Hi i'm Matthew McKnight
I have found a way to be a constant learner in everything i've ever done from my previous job where i went from a locomotive mover to a apprentice electrician to journeyman electrician, it was during that time that I began teaching myself Python and fell in love with coding; so when the opportunity presented itself I dove into the General Assembly Software Enginnering Immersive.
Beyond coding I love reading, playing video games, and tabletop games.
Kid Power Unites a site dedicatd to teaching children philanthropy by giving them the oppurtunity to donate school supplies or gifts to underprivalged children. Created with React, React-bootstrap, Sass, and Firebase, for a client to see their first iteration of a website idea, in a cross-functional team.
Athenaeum is the begginings of a personal library/goodreads type webste where users can create books and add them to their collection made using React, Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL
APOLLO Hardware is a project we made as a group project with a fellow ux cohort, on their end we were given specs for how the site should look and function, on ours we divided work among 4 programmers and used branching methods in git and project management heirarchy to conrol flow, site is made with React for frontend, with MongoDB, express, and heroku for backend.
Roll-a-Dex NPC Generator is a npc generator or you can submit one and can generate stats for it for quick grab for rpg games made using React for frontend and a Airtable for the api database
Pokedex was made with Javascript, CSS, HTML, and using a outside RESTful API PokeAPI to allow the user to search pokemon based on name or id number.
